On Politics: Priebus seeks to keep GOP leadership

?

Wisconsin?s own, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, reportedly will run for another two-year term, Politico reported Friday.

Priebus, who formerly chaired the Republican Party of Wisconsin, has the hearty support of Gov. Scott Walker, a rising star on the national Republican scene.

?Reince Priebus is an amazing leader who dramatically improved the effectiveness of the RNC,? Walker said in a statement released by his campaign Friday evening. ?I strongly support his continued leadership of our national Republican Party.?

According to Politico, Priebus sent an email message to the 168 state chairs and committee members who make up the RNC, saying he had already lined up support from 130 of them.

Politico reported that Priebus? email touted the financial gains the party had made in the previous two years but made no mention of the loss of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney nor the failure of the GOP to retake control of the U.S. Senate.
